Never a dull moment tagging salmon in Dorset

I thoroughly enjoyed the few days spent with the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust tagging salmon and trout parr in Dorset. It was great to escape the office hum drum, get into some waders and refine my fishing skills in the River Frome and its tributaries.

Both the fishing and tagging teams were very efficient and organised and I was impressed with everybody’s focus. We rotated around various roles within the teams, so there was never a dull moment. It was a great opportunity to learn about the SAMARCH project and the hard work of all the dedicated researchers. I will look forward to getting involved again at a future date!
